Matthew Riven: Power and K!nk - 50 Shades of OK

December 03, 20251 min read

A podcast with Graeme Doyle of Humdrumity

If you want to understand the overlap between power, leadership, k!nk, consent, and human behavior—and why “switching it up on the dance floor” can make you a better boss—this is the episode to listen to.

This was hands down one of my favorite podcast conversations to date. Graeme showed up as an exceptional host—he did his homework, read every page of my website, dug into articles and resources connected to my work, and came prepared with questions that were thoughtful, challenging, and incredibly well-informed.

We didn’t just talk about power dynamics—we dissected them. We explored why k!nk has so much to teach us about leadership, communication, trust, and authenticity. We dug into the messy parts, the misconceptions, the breakthroughs, and the places where my work really shines. The conversation went deep into the pros and cons of this field, the misunderstandings that come with it, and the real transformation that’s possible when people step into their desires without shame. This podcast was professional, personal, and fully alive in the best way.
